Eggs could last up to a year if stored in one unusual place.

You may preserve your pricey carton of eggs for up to a year if you're worried that they will spoil before you can use them. Delish's culinary experts have discovered a way to store eggs that can keep them fresh for up to a year.

To give you a sense of how long eggs will survive, egg cartons may contain various dates on them, such as an expiration date or use-by date. Eggs can be stored for up to three to five weeks in the refrigerator since it slows down the natural aging process.

Beat them gently with a fork first, then divide them into portions and transfer the mixture into ice cube trays.

Delish states: "You can fill each hole with a quarter cup of whisked egg. Typically, one large egg is equal to a quarter cup.

Egg whites and yolks can also be frozen individually. You will need to have some sugar or salt on hand if you wish to freeze egg yolks.

Delish clarified: "Egg whites and yolks can also be frozen separately. The yolks require a somewhat different procedure.

"Add a little salt or a little sugar, and just beat that in with them before portioning them into the molds, and that will prevent them from thickening as they freeze."

Like entire eggs, egg whites can be cooked and kept in the freezer. They went on: "With the whites, just whisk them very gently to loosen them up, and then portion into the ice cube trays, just like you would the whole eggs."
